Here is an example map showing both a marine area human USE (whale watching activity) and a marine area RESOURCE (baleen whale abundance).... we are hoping to do something like this for birds, on a smaller scale, in LIS, as broadly defined....

Listing good locations for birds, in and around LIS, will contribute to this goal. Thank you for any information you can provide about LIS locations or birds in LIS areas.

Audubon IBA's

All you have to do is "VOTE", without worrying about existing lists of locations. We will do that, coordinating and consolidating appropriately.

Of course we will incorporate all the locations in the CT and NY lists of Audubon Important Bird Areas (IBAs) in and around LIS (here are some of them: Long Island Important Bird Areas | Audubon New York ).

We are assuming that bird watchers' and fishermen's "votes" will include some of those areas, plus additional areas, especially areas offshore, which may not be on any existing lists.
